    I’m having trouble getting firejail to work in a couple of cases: (1) qpdfview from a shell prompt can’t read the example.pdf file I asked it to view, and (2) the Portage command “emerge example_application” in Gentoo can’t see the downloaded source for that example application, after it has just used “wget” to download it.

    My question for here: where’s the best place to ask these questions? (Probably not here ).
